President Biden recently announced a new fund for global health threats and many advocates and activists are debating whether the world really needed a new fund or whether they should rather build on existing mechanisms such as the Global Fund.
Dr Christoph Benn, JLI’s Center for Health Diplomacy Director, was on a C20 panel discussion on “Fund creation tiredness: what is the added value of a #GlobalHealth Threats Fund?”

- What are the standards that we, as community members, request from any newly created instrument?
- How should the newly discussed mechanism be financed and who should host the new instrument?
