OUR MISSION

Our mission is to accelerate human development through innovations that strengthen systems for health and health financing. We know the scale of our ambition and defined 3 key focus areas to help us get there.

Using data in health to benefit society

Finding inclusive health financing models

Putting people in control of their own health needs

Find a space that suits you and your work.

Daring ideas need space to develop. This drives JLI and makes us push whereothers won’t and don’t. We believe pragmatism, science and activism should becombined: we need to be confrontational and convincing at the same time, by displaying evidence from practice and research.

OUR GOALS

1. Demonstrate the potential mobile technologies and data offers societies for better health coverage.

2. Spark debate by challenging conventional thinking and advocating innovative new solutions for more inclusive global health.

3. Become the platform where health policy shapers turn for inspiration, guidance and exchange.

“Our health data is personal and we have rights to our property. Sharing is essential to maximize individual and societal benefits but we must be in control to decide what we do with it”.

Michiel Heidenrijk, Board Member Joep Lange Institute

OUR BELIEFS

We need people to prepay

when liquidity in healthcare goes up,

willingness to invest goes up,

lowering transaction costs

for everyone.

Healthcare needs to go digital, data needs to be under the rule of law by the state or independent 3rd party.

There is nothing more energizing by de-politicizing a problem definition that everyone agrees to.

Start Private, Grow Public.

There is nothing more energizing by de-politicizing a problem definition that everyone agrees to.

The SIM CARD has made it possible for everyone to be reachable at almost zero marginal costs.

We can mitigate risk

for investors

by demonstrating
the opportunities.

The best provider of equity
is to create efficiency.
